Triple-Resolution Technology
The core of the Leica Q3 is its innovative BSI-CMOS sensor equipped with Triple-Resolution Technology, offering selectable resolutions of 60, 36, or 18 MP. Whether you choose to create raw images using DNG format or JPEG files for straight-out-of-the-camera perfection, you're assured superb image quality. With 60 MP, it captures the finest details and structures, while the 36 or 18 MP modes offer faster operation, longer image sequences, and smaller file sizes. The sensor's sensitivity range stretches from ISO 50 to 100,000, assuring great images in a wide range of lighting conditions.
Lightning-fast Leica Summilux 28 mm f/1.7 ASPH
Accompanying the impressive sensor is the lightning-fast Leica Summilux 28 mm f/1.7 ASPH. lens, a masterstroke of optics. Its integrated macro mode enables close-up shots from just 6.69 inches away, while the digital zoom allows for creative cropping to focal lengths of 28, 35, 50, 75, and 90 mm. The camera's built-in assistants, Leica Perspective Control (LPC) and Leica Dynamic Range (LDR), further enhance JPEG image quality without any need for post-processing.
The Q3 also features a significantly upgraded autofocus system. Its hybrid phase detection system ensures ultra-fast, accurate focusing and tracking of objects, people, and pets. The high-precision contrast autofocus, coupled with the Depth From Defocus (DFD) system, ensures sharp and vibrant images, which can be viewed clearly on the new 5.76 MP OLED viewfinder.
3-inch high-resolution touchscreen
Creativity is made easier with the 3-inch high-resolution touchscreen that tilts for unique viewing angles. Even with its tiltable display, the Leica Q3 maintains protection from dust and water spray due to its IP52 certification.
The Leica Q3 stands out with its fast and seamless connectivity via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, featuring advanced MIMO technology for rapid transfer to the Leica FOTOS app. This allows easy import of 'Leica Looks' onto the camera for stunning JPEG images and exporting of videos to your smartphone. It's also Apple-certified as a “Made for iPhone® and iPad®” accessory and includes a Leica FOTOS cable for a streamlined creative workflow.
8K video recording
For video content creators, the Leica Q3 offers 8K video recording and supports efficient codecs like H.265 and Apple's ProRes. It has USB-C and HDMI ports for easy connection to external devices like gimbals, power banks, and display recorders. Tethered shooting is supported with Capture One or Adobe Lightroom plug-in via the USB-C cable connection.
A new feature in this generation is wireless charging through the Leica Charging Pad and the separate camera handgrip. The new powerful BC-SCL6 battery can also be conveniently recharged by other Qi-compatible devices.
The Leica Q3 is designed for customization and comes with four different function buttons. It offers a range of accessories such as leather protectors, lens caps, retro-look lens hoods, thumb rests, soft release buttons, and flash shoe covers in three color variations.
